This is a chic vintage Maru obi
with a design of rural house and flower such as 'sakura'(cherry blossom), 'kikyou'(balloon flower) and 'botan' (peony) on book, which is dyed and embroidered.
Textile is exquisite silk, and stiff lining is added inside.
The pattern at otaiko(square bow) part is designed upside down from kaikiri-line(end mark line) to be tied with hikinuki style.
The obi has one side patterned at the front part when it is tied.
When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), Maegara will show.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, it has loosing stitches about 2"(5cm) near the square mark on the figure.
It has a large tear on the tare end and will spread if touched.
There are some more stains than the figure shown.
It has discoloration and patinas overall and disturbing.
There are other flaws so please check detail photos.
Though it has some flaws by ages, please enjoy its full taste of vintage!
*The background color may seem irregular on photos, but it is actually one tone of color as seen in HTML code.
