This is an elegant Nagoya obi
with a design of 'botan' (peony) 'karakusa'(arabesque), bird and 'susuki'(Japanese silver grass) on 'shikishi'(square paper), which is woven.
Gold foil threads woven on the design are elegantly shining.
Textile is silk and has soft touch.
Foil threads on the maegara(front patterned part) are peeled off (indicated as stain A) and may be prominent when tied.
However, when you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), they will be hidden.
Although not shown on the photo and figure, slight liner smudges can be seen on the lining about 1"(2.5cm) from the tare end.
Discoloration on the otaiko is slight so not noticeable.
There are other flaws such as patinas on the blank part.(6th flaw photo)
Please check detail photos.
If these flaws do not bother you, it could be still worn.
Please enjoy its graceful fashion!
