He is a holder of the important intangible cultural asset of Japanese embroidery.
He started his training with his father, Kisaburo, at age 15 and was the first person to be certified the living national treasure in the field of embroidery in 1997.
He concentrated on balance of space in his design on Kimono and how gracefully it looks when it is put on and in a standing position.
As respect for his late father, he succeeds his father's Rakkan, 'Kisaburo' as his signature.
