This is a vintage Maru obi
with a design of such as royal cart and classical seasonal flower on 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells), which is woven.
Gold foil threads woven on the pattern are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Otaiko part is set upside down, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
The tare corner is frayed and partially cut off.
It has smudges throughout the edges and relatively prominent discoloration overall.
It has dyestuff on 'Maegara' (front patterned part).
It also has folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
The fabric is getting weak by ages, but we hope you enjoy its retro and gorgeous design of vintage!
