This is a Fukuro obi
with a design of 'mukai-dori'(pair birds), 'karabana'(imaginary flower in China) and Takara
items on 'kiredori'(overlapping fabric scraps), which is woven on the greenish deep gray background.
Its design is made of kiribame (patchwork).
Gold glazing is used overall and elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
(Lining is not added inside.)
Folding lines are prominently remained.
Gold glazing of the background is frayed and many parts are peeled off.
Peeling spots of gold glazing on Tare can be hidden, if tied neatly.
Peeling spots of gold glazing can be seen on creases of Maegara( front patterned part).
When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), most of them can be hidden.
Please check detail photos.
However, we hope you enjoy tying this piece!
Please enjoy its graceful fashion!
*The background color may look uneven in the photos but actual color is one tone just as HTML color.
