This is an elegant vintage Maru obi
with wheel and 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) on 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase' ) pattern, which are woven with Koukechi-ori technique.
The pattern has three-dimensional look.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Otaiko part is set upside down, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
Tare and Tesaki corners are frayed, although it's not mentioned on the sheet and picture.
Discoloration and patinas can be seen overall.
It has rather prominent discoloration on creases such as star and circle marks of the figure.
Please check detail photos.
This item can't be tied, because fabric is weak.
However, we hope you enjoy its retro design of vintage!
