This is a luxurious Fukuro obi
with a design of flower circle, 'shokkou'(octagon and rectangle) 'hanabishi' (flower-diamond) and 'kikko ' (tortoise shell) on diamond lattice, which is fully embroidered with skillful shazashi technique.
Gold foil threads are woven on the lining and can be seen from the transparent design.
Textile is transparent Sha silk and has soft touch.
(Wrong side is not transparent.)
Its length is rather short. 13'5"(410cm)
It has a slight folding line on the wrong side.
Wrinkles can be seen on one side of Maegara( front patterned part). (When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), the side comes on the right side.)
If you wrap from the other side, the wrinkles can be hidden.
*These flaws are not indicated on the figure and pictures.
Snags of Otaiko are tiny and not prominent when tied.
Also, there are a couple of other flaws.
Please check detail photos.
However, it still can be tied!
Please enjoy its graceful fashion!
