This is a vintage Maru obi
with dynamic phoenix, wave and 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) on fan pattern, which is woven.
Gold foil threads woven on the pattern are gorgeously shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Otaiko part is set upside down, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
The length is rather short.155.12in(394cm)
Lining is not added inside.
The tesaki end is closed, but the tare end is open.
It has patinas and discolorations overall.(refer to the 3rd flaws photo)
Woven threads are missing in places on the edges and background by fray.
It has some other flaws such as folding lines and rather large stains. (refer to the 5th flaws photo)

It can't be tied, because fabric is weak.
