This is a vintage summer Ro Maru obi
with a design of iris and 'hagi'(Japanese bush clover) on circle, which is dyed on the uroko(fish scale) background.
Main parts are embroidered.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Otaiko is set upside down, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
The obi has one side patterned at the front part when it is tied.
When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), Maegara will show on the right side.
If you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), Maegara will show on the wrong side.
Such as Otaiko, Maegara( front patterned part) and blank part are prominently discolored partly. (the 3rd flaw photo)
Also, rather prominent patinas can be seen in places. (the 5th flaw photo)
There are noticeable stains on edge of Tare end. (the 2nd flaw photo)
It has other flaws such as a slight folding line.
Please check detail photos.
Though it has flaws overall by ages, please enjoy its retro and cute design of vintage.
