This is an amazing vintage Maru obi
with pair crane design, which is embroidered.
The vibrant pattern emerges out against the pale colored background.
Gold foil threads woven in its base shine gracefully.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
There is a gunpai-mark(referee's fan) , which is distinct features of textile woven by Kawashima Weaving Co, one of the most famous obi weavers in Kyoto.
'Maegara' (front patterned part) is on one side.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), Maegara will show.
It has smudges on the tare end, tesaki corners and throughout the edges.
It has a rather large slight stain on the tare end.(A)
It has patinas overall.
It has some other flaws such as stains, snags, pinholes and slight folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Though it has some flaws by ages, it is in very good condition overall.
*Though the photo shows uneven color dyes by the angle of light, actual background color is one color.
