This is a glamorous Fukuro obi
with 'Kikko' (tortoise shell), 'Housouge'(imaginary Chinese flower) and 'Karabana'(imaginary flower in China) on 'Ichimatsu'(checkerboard) pattern, which is woven on the gold background.
Gold foil threads are gracefully shining.
Textile is exquisite relatively thick silk and has soft but rather textured touch.
Although it has a small snag on the lower Otaiko(square bow), not so noticeable.
Maybe, this piece was tied in fancy bow.
It has rather prominent folding lines throughout on the wrong side.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
It still can be tied!
Please enjoy this graceful design perfect for celebratory occasions!
