This is a graceful Hon-Fukuro obi with phoenix
and 'kiri'(paulownia) on lattice pattern, which are woven.
Gold foil threads are woven on the pattern.
Textile is exquisite soft silk.
This piece was woven by Kawashima Weaving Co., one of the most famous obi weavers.
You can see the three lines and 'gunpai'(referee's fan) mark on the tare end, which are the evidence of Kawashima's obi.
There is not folding lines and it seems to be untied one.
There is not prominent flaw.
Please enjoy its gorgeous fashion!
*Kawashima Textiles Co.*
In 1843, company founder, Jimbei Kawashima, opened a fabrics store in Nishijin, Kyoto.
Now Kawashima has two ongoing businesses, traditional garments/textiles and interior products, such as curtains.
The three lines and Gunpai, referee's fan, emblem are the two significant marks of the brand.
The brand is famous because their products and design are elegant, detailed and sophisticated.
Their Hon Fukuro obi
is especially highly evaluated for its comfortableness and evenness in thickness.
