This is a vintage Maru obi
with Buddhist temple and 'shou-chiku-bai' (auspicious three motifs - pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom) on jigami'(fan shape) pattern, which are woven.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Its length is rather short. 11'9"(360cm)
Corners of Tare and Tesaki and overall edges are frayed and woven threads are missing in many parts. (*They are not indicated on the figure.)
Several tears can be seen such as Tare end, although it's not mentioned on the sheet and picture. (The biggest is about 0.7in=2cm.)
There are several other flaws such as a seam and overall discoloration.
Please check detail photos.
It can't be tied, because fabric becomes weak.
It must be an amazing handicraft material or interior decor!
