This is a vintage Maru obi
with book, 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells) and seasonal flower pattern, which is woven on the grayish ivory background.
Gold and silver foil threads woven on the background and patterns are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Otaiko is set upside down, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
Its length is rather short. 150.39in(382cm)
Lining is not added inside.
It has discoloration by ages overall.
Although not shown on the photo and the sheet, woven threads are partially missing by suer throughout the edges.
It has some other flaws such as relatively prominent folding lines and smudges throughout the edges.(indicated as vertical lines/refer to the 2nd flaws photo)
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Though it has some flaws, we hope you enjoy its retro and gorgeous design of vintage!
