This is a vintage Maru obi
with a vibrant 'housouge'(large karabana flower) on 'shokkou'(octagon and rectangle) pattern, which is woven.
Gold and silver foil threads woven on the background and pattern are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Otaiko part is set upside down, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
Gold foil threads are coming loose in many parts.
Discoloration and patinas by ages can be seen overall. (the 3rd flaw photo)
It has a folding line.
Threads of overall edges are missing by frays.
There are a couple of other flaws.
Please check detail photos.
It has flaws, but we hope you enjoy its retro and bold design of vintage!
