This is an antique Fukusa from Meiji period (1868-1912) with 'Takasago' design, which is embroidered elaborately.
'Takasago' is one of the auspicious Noh
story about admiring conjugal love and longevity.
It has other auspicious designs as crane, tortoise, and shou-chiku-bai(auspicious three motifs - pine tree, bamboo and Japananese aprocot blossom).
Textile is glossy shusu silk and has smooth touch.
Cotton is padded inside.
It is frayed and discolored overall.
Also there are loosing stitches and stains, and tears on the edges, so please check detail photos.
However, we really recommend this tasteful design, which must be an artistic interior decor! Please enjoy it at your hands.
