This is an antique Fukusa with 'Kiku-Jido' design, which is embroidered elaborately.
It has red and white kiku(chrysanthemum) embroidered around it.
'Kiku-Jido' is a legend that a little page drank the dew of kiku and became a hermit of immortality, and it is one of the Noh
Textile is glossy shusu silk and has smooth touch.
It is from Meiji period (1868-1912).
There are some loosing stitches and patinas on embroidery, but it is relatively good condition.
Also lining has small stains and holes, so please check detail photos.
However, we really recommend this elaborate design, which must be an artistic interior decor! Please enjoy it at your hands.
