This is an elegant vintage Maru obi
with 'karabana'(imaginary flower in China) and phoenix
patterns, which are woven.
Gold foil threads woven on the deep blue background are gorgeously shining.
The patterns are set upside down, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Its length is rather short. 12'9"(390cm)
Corners of Tare and Tesaki ends and overall both edges are frayed.
Some snags can be seen on Kaikiri lines.
May be, this piece was tied in fancy bow. Prominent folding line is remained from Tare end to Tesaki end.
Please check detail photos.
It can't be tied, because fabric becomes weak by ages.
However, please enjoy its retro and adorable design of vintage!
