This is a vintage Maru obi
with dynamic phoenix
and 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase') pattern, which is woven.
The retro feel large pattern which is characteristic of vintage piece draw peoples attention.
The pattern is designed up side down to be tied with hikinuki knot style.
It is relatively short.(12'8"/388cm)
Although it's not mentioned on the sheet and photo,
there are missing threads on the sides due to fray.
There are discoloration (6th photo of flaw photos) and
patinas (2nd photo of flaw photos) throughout due to its age.
There are some other flaws such as folding lines, a small hole on the wrong side.
For the details, please refer to the photos and sheet.
Unfortunately, it may no longer in wearable condition due to the weaken fabric.
However, it is still charming design which we would like you to enjoy.
