This is a vintage opened Nagoya obi
with a design of lovely children, which is embroidered.
The fine embroidery works which were done a stitch by a stitch are three dimensional and beautifully glossy.
Textile is exquisite glossy soft silk with damask effect(rinzu) of honmon(arranged sayagata) pattern.
There is only one 'maegara' (front patterned part).
When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), the maegara will show.
Its length is rather long. 412cm(13'5")
It has rather prominent stains around the design.(C)
The stain (B) on the 'Maegara'(front patterned part) is noticeable.
Discoloration (refer to the 5th flaw photo) and patinas (A) can be seen overall.
It has some other flaws such as slight water stains (refer to the 11th flaw photo) and folding lines (refer to the 9th flaw photo).
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Unfortunately, it is no longer in wearable condition due to the prominent flaws.
It must be a good handcraft material.
