This is a vintage Maru obi
with such as 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) and castle on 'Kikko' (tortoise shell) pattern, which is woven with Koukeshi technique.
The blue designs were dyed after weaved.
Textile is jinken (rayon) and has rather crisp and textured touch.
The otaiko pattern is set upside down, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
Its length is rather short. 392cm(12'8")
It has discoloration due to its age overall (refer to the 2nd flaw photo) and patinas in places.
It has some other flaws such as tiny snags and smudges on the edges overall.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
This piece is not suitable to tie, because the fabric became thin.
It must be a good handcraft material or display piece.
