This is a marvelous white damask effect(rinzu) antique uchikake from Meiji period(1868-1912).
It has auspicious pattern of 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum), 'Botan'(peony), royal cart, 'Shou-chiku-bai'( pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom), crane and tortoise on stream, which is gorgeously embroidered.
The vibrant embroidery emerges out brilliantly against the white background.
Textile is damask effect(rinzu) silk with woven 'kiri'(paulownia), phoenix
and pair crane on 'Fundou-tsunagi'(jointed weights) pattern, and has soft touch.
It has patinas and discoloration on its base by ages.
It has some flaws such as tiny stains, snags and tears on the bottom due to the weak fabric.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Unfortunately, it is no longer wearable due to its old age.
It could be useful for your handicraft or display as an antique design!!
