This is an antique Maru obi
around Meiji Period(1868-1912) with 'karako'(Chinese child) and 'karabana'(imaginary flower in China) patterns, which are woven.
Its staid colors have chic atmosphere.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
This is in two ways item since it has kaikiri lines(end mark line) on the both sides.
May be, this piece was tied in fancy bow.
Slight folding line is remained from Tare end to Tesaki end.
Both edges are frayed overall.
Also, stitches of edge are partly coming loose.
Please check detail photos.
It doesn't have enough strength to tie.
It must be an amazing handicraft material!
