This is a FABULOUS Houmongi
Kimono which is made by Itchiku Kubota, one of the most famous dyers, who is famous for his revival of Tsujigahana.
is dyed by Itchiku Kubota II ( the first Itchiku passed away ).
It has a ombre dyeing cloud-like design, which is beautifully dyed on the deep purplish gray background.
Also, a fantastical Tsujigahana
design is dyed with Shibori (tie-dye) technique on hem.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Damask effect(monisho) Tsujigahana
pattern can be seen on the background.
Hakkake (lower part of lining) has the same woven pattern.
Basting stitches remain and it seems to be just after cleaning.
There is not prominent flaw and it is in excellent condition!
