This is a vintage Maru obi
with 'kaioke' (a hexagonal container to store clam shells, which are used ancient shell matching game - 'kaiawase' ), phoenix, 'matsu'(pine tree) and 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) patterns, which are dynamically woven.
Gold foil threads woven on the patterns are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Its length is rather short. 12'11" (394cm)
It is rather prominently discolored overall.
There are smudges on both edges overall.
Corners of Tare end and Tesaki are frayed.
Many rather prominent stains can be seen.
Also, it has a rather prominent folding line and a snag.
