This is a glamorous vintage Nagoya obi
with a design on 'botan' (peony), 'ume'(Japanese plum) and 'tachibana'(mandarin orange) on bobbin, which is embroidered.
The vibrant design emerges out dynamically against the black background.
Embroideries can be seen also on Tare end and Maegara( front patterned part).
Textile is glossy silk.
The obi has one side patterned at the front part when it is tied.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), Maegara will show.
Tare corners are frayed.
Embroideries of Otaiko are fluffing by frays.
Also, it has slight patinas on Otaiko part.
There are several molds on Maegara. (A)
Also, it has other flaws such as rather prominent folding lines.
Please check detail photos.
If these flaws such as molds on Maegara do not bother you, the Obi can be tied.
Please enjoy its impressive fashion!
