This is a Fukuro obi
with vibrant plant pattern, which is woven on the black background.
Background is woven with cut velvet technique overall.
It is very gorgeous!
Gold foil threads and aurora foil threads woven on the pattern are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Some velvet threads on the background are frayed.
Frays on Tare end and one side of Maegara( front patterned part) will be bothering when tied. (If you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), frays of Maegara can be hidden.)
Tare corners are frayed and weaving threads are missing by frays.
There are a couple of other flaws such as a rather prominent folding line.
Please check detail photos.
However, if these flaws do not bother you, the Obi can be tied.
Please enjoy its distinctive and elegant design!
