This is a vintage Nagoya obi
with graceful 'chayatsuji' (water garden scenery) motif, which is embroidered.
The three dimensional pattern which was elaborately embroidered shines elegantly.
Textile is exquisite soft silk with damask effect(rinzu) of Sayagata pattern.
There are also embroidered motifs on the 'taresaki'(end of wide part) and 'maegara' (front patterned part).
It has only one 'maegara' (front patterned part).
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), the maegara will show.
The kaikiri lines(end mark line) are not strait.(see the 2nd photo from the top.)
The stains on 'otaiko'(square bow) and 'maegara' (see the 3rd photo of flaw photos.) are noticeable.
The flaw (A) and (B) are stains.
There are folding lines.
There are some other flaws such as discoloration due to its age, peeled foiled threads (see the 9th photo of flaw photos.).
For the details, please refer to the photos and sheet.
Although it has such flaws, it is still in wearable condition.
