This is a vintage Nagoya obi
with flowers such as "Tachibana" (Japanese green citrus) and 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) motifs, which is embroidered.
The motifs are three dimensional and elegantly shine.
Textile is soft satin silk.
There are embroidery works on the 'taresaki'(end of wide part) and 'maegara' (front patterned part).
There is only one 'maegara' (front patterned part) on a side. When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), the maegara will show.
There are frays on the embroidered area on the 'taresaki'(end of wide part).(A)
There are smudges in places.
There are frays on the corners.
There are some other flaws such as a small snag and stains.
For the details, please refer to the photos and sheet.
Although it has some flaws due to its age, it is still very charming design which only vintage items have.
