This is a fabulous fukusa from late Edo period(1603-1867) through Meiji period(1868-1912).
with embroidered motif of Chinese folk tale of "Bamboo shoot of the in the deep snow".
The story is about a boy who wanted to give bamboo shoot to his mother which is a favorite food of her.
However, the season was winter(bamboo shoot grow in spring). He couldn't give up. So, he went to look for it into snow covered bamboo grove. And he found it!
It is a story which tells us impossible thing happens if we strongly desire.
Don't you think it is a WONDERFUL story?

Textile is sleek shusu silk .

One tassel is missing.

There is slight discoloration due to its age.
There are small stains and smudges.
For the details, please refer to the photos and sheet.

Please enjoy the vintage design!
