This is a gorgeous vintage Maru obi
with a design of such as pheasant, 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) and 'Botan'(peony) on 'Tanzaku'(strip of paper), which is woven. with Kokechi-ori technique.
The woven gold and silver foiled threads elegantly shine.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
The pattern is designed up side down to be tied with hikinuki knot style.
It has discoloration and patinas overall, and a little bothering.
The folding lines remain to the middle from the tare end to the star mark of the sheet.
It has some other flaws such as prominent smudges.
For the details, please refer to the photos and sheet.
Unfortunately, it is no longer wearable, because the fabric has no enough strength to tie.
Please enjoy its retro and cute design.
