This is a gorgeous vintage Maru obi
with fan, phoenix
and 'tsuzumi'(Japanese hand drum) patterns, which are woven.
Gold foil threads woven on the patterns are elegantly shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
This is in two ways item since it has kaikiri lines(end mark line) on the both sides.
The patterns are set upside down, and it's to be tied in 'hikinuki' style.
It has a smudge on Tare end. (A)
Tare corners are frayed.
There are smudges on both edges overall.
It has slight stains on Otaiko and one side of Maegara( front patterned part). (When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), they will show.)
There are tiny patinas overall. (B)
Also, it has a rather prominent folding line.
Please check detail photos.
It has flaws by ages, but it still can be tied!
Please enjoy its dynamic fashion!
