This is a lovely Houmongi
Kimono with a design of autumn grasses on 'doukyo'(copper mirror), which is dyed.
Main flowers are embroidered.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
The collar is hiro-eri(unfolded).
The beautiful purple color is named Teio-Murasaki, emperor's purple.
Its dyestuff is from secretion of a snail and very valuable.
This color is named and produced by Juraku, one of the most famous Nishijin weavers.
Basting stitches remain and it seems to be just after cleaning.
Small stains such as on left front panel are not so prominent.
Slight discoloration can be seen on the outside and the lining, but not so bothering.
