This is a Tsume-Tsuzure Nagoya obi
with a design of 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) arabesque and Takara
items on fans, which is woven.
Its colorful design looks lovely.
Textile is thick silk and has rather crisp touch.
One threads by one threads, it was woven elaborately with nails, and it had to be taken incredibly long time to be completed.
The obi has one side patterned at the front part when it is tied.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), Maegara will show.
It is sewn as "matsuba-shitate" (open Nagoya obi
with tightly folded end of belt part).
There is not folding lines and it seems to be untied one.
It has couple of flaws such as tiny snags (the 2nd flaw photo), although they are not disturbing for tying.
Please check detail photos.
This elegant piece will be versatile and will come in use both on formal and casual occasions!
