This is a glorious vintage Maru obi
by Tatsumura Heizo, one of the most famous obi weaver in Kyoto Nishijin.
It has a design of vibrant 'kaede'(maple leaf) and 'sakura'(cherry blossom), which is woven on the serene background.
Foil threads woven on the design are gorgeously shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
There is a name of the brand inside of Tare end.
Its length is rather short. 404cm(13'3")
This item is 'rokutsu'(approx 60% of the both sides are patterned).
Discoloration by ages can be seen overall.
Folding lines are remained from Tesaki between star and circle marks actually, although it is different from the figure.
There are other couple of flaws.
Please check detail photos.
However, it still can be tied as a vintage Obi!
Please enjoy its brilaint design by Tatsumura Heizo!
