This is a casual Tsume-Tsuzure Nagoya obi
with a 'karabana'(imaginary flower in China) motif, which is woven on the vibrant background.
Its colorful motif looks lovely.
Textile is thick silk and has rather crisp touch.
One threads by one threads, it was woven elaborately with nails, and it had to be taken incredibly long time to be completed.
The obi has one side patterned at the front part when it is tied.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), Maegara will show.
It is sewn as "matsuba-shitate" (open Nagoya obi
with tightly folded end of belt part).
Threads come out on the design, but they are tiny and seem not to be disturbing for tying. (*It is indicated as snag on the figure.)
Please cut them, if you're concerned them. Maybe, there is not problem, although we can't guarantee.
Please check detail photos.
There is not serious damage for tying.
This elegant piece will be versatile and will come in use both on formal and casual occasions!
