This is a Nagoya obi
with lovely 'peony' (botan) pattern, which is woven on the shiny foiled background.
Silver foil threads woven on the pattern are gracefully shining.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft and comfortable touch.
Foil threads are twisted. (A)
Wrong side of foil threads can be seen on many parts such as Otaiko, although (A) is indicated partially on the figure. They will be a little bothering when tied.
Especially, the flaw of right side of Maegara( front patterned part) is prominent, but wrong side is relatively less.
So, please start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise)!
Also, there are frays.
Please check detail photos.
However, we hope you enjoy tying this charming piece!
