This is a donsu, a kind of fabric called Meibutsu-gire with arabesque 'Botan'(peony) pattern, which is woven.

Meibutsu-gire has some kinds such as kin-ran, donsu (a kind of rinzu silk) , cotton, satin with raised figures, kin-ra, kin-sha, gold braiding, veludo, and sarasa.
It came as a canonical robe of the Zen priest, and is loved long from the beginning of the tea ceremony to late years.

Textile is jinken (rayon) and has very soft touch.
(or jinken (rayon) and cotton blend)

As the figure shown, It has some flaws such as uneven spot of weaving.
