This is a fabulous koto(Japanese harp) cover.
It has a luxurious treasure ship, scroll, 'shou-chiku-bai'( pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom), and cranes pattern, which was woven with "Tsume Tsuzure" technique.
One thread by one thread, elaborately with nails.
It takes incredibly long time to complete. It has special kind of comfortable and medium touch of Tsume tsuzure
It also has "HATSURIKOU" (small holes in the boundaries of colors), which is the distinctive feature of Tsume tsuzure
Sleek silk habutae is used for the wrong side, and it has dynamic 'kiku'(chrysanthemum) and a pair of hens are dyed.
It has fine stains and some stitches are coming loose.
The wrong side has discoloration and patinas.
Please see photos for details.
We would like you to enjoy this classical yet dynamic design.
