This is an elegant Fukuro obi
with 'Karakusa'(arabesque) of 'Kaede'(maple leaf) pattern, which is woven.
The pastel color pattern glows very well on the tranquil background.
This piece was woven by Kawashima Weaving Co., one of the most famous obi weavers.
You can see the three lines and 'gunpai'(referee's fan) mark on the tare end, which are the evidence of Kawashima's obi.
Textile is exquisite soft silk.
It was made by Mitsukoshi, one of the high end department stores in Japan.
There are snags on the pattern.
There are some other flaws such as folding lines.
For the details, please refer to the photos and sheet.
Although it's not mentioned on the sheet and photo,
there is a brown stain on the bird motif on the 'taresaki'(end of wide part).
There are some other flaws such as wrinkles on the green phoenix
on the 'otaiko'(square bow).
If you don't mind those minor flaws, it is still in good condition to wear.
Enjoy wearing the lovely obi!
