This is a vintage Nagoya obi
with a design of royal cart, 'Kiku'(chrysanthemum) and 'Matsu'(pine tree), which is embroidered.
Elaborately embroidered work has shiny three-dimensional look.
Textile is glossy black Shusu and has soft touch.
(It seems to be silk) and jinken (rayon) blend.)
The obi has one side patterned at the front part when it is tied.
When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), Maegara will show.
It has thread scuff by fray on the embroidered part of otaiko(square bow).
A seam can be seen on the tare end.
It has some other flaws.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Though not indicated, it has a seam on tesaki.
It also has vertical linear seam from the tare top to the tare end on the wrong side.
(refer to the 3rd flaws photo)
It has wrinkles overall.
Though it has some flaws, it still can be tied as a vintage!
