This is a vintage Nagoya obi
with small 'Tsuzumi'(Japanese hand drum),'kiku'(chrysanthemum) and 'Kumihimo'(braided cords) motifs, which are embroidered.
Beside the embroidery work, shibori(tie-dye) technique is added on the motifs.
'Maegara' (front patterned part) is on both side.
When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), many motifs will show.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Though not indicated, the stitches are coming loose on Koma embroidery part of otaiko(square bow) in two places.
The stains will appear when tied.
(refer to the 3rd flaws photo & A)
There are other flaws such as folding lines (refer to the 4th flaws photo) and frays on both corners.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Also, it has a rather slight blackish streaky stain on right edge of Tare end, although it's not mentioned on the sheet and picture. Its length is about 1.5cm=0.5in
Though it has some flaws, it could be worn if these minor flaws do not bother you.
Please enjoy its attractive retro design!
