This is an alluring vintage Nagoya obi
with a design of bird and basket, which is finely embroidered with glossy threads.
Textile is glossy Shusu silk and has soft touch.
The obi has one side patterned at the front part when it is tied. When you start wrapping the obi from your left tummy to right(Rotate obi clockwise), Maegara will show.
Threads become weak, because of frays on edges.
There are several other flaws such as discoloration and small snags.
Please check detail photos.
It has folding lines and a seam on wrong side of otaiko, although it's not mentioned on the sheet and pictures.
Also, embroidery threads of otaiko (bottom basket part) are rubbed off.
It seems not to have enough strength to tie.
It must be an amazing handicraft material!
