This is a lovely Nagoya obi
with vibrant colored sunflower motifs, which is dyed with shibori(tie-dye) technique and embroidered with Sashiko technique.
Textile is exquisite Tsumugi
silk and has nubby touch with rusty atmosphere.
Maegara(front patterned part) are in both side.
When you start wrapping the obi from your right tummy to left(Rotate obi counterclockwise), embroidered motif will show.
Trace of rough sketch remain on otaiko(square bow) and 'Maegara' (front patterned part).
They are hardly bothering when it is tied.
It has a snag, but not disturbing for wearing.
