This is a wonderful antique fukusa from Meiji period(1868-1912) .
The picture of Wu Daozi
, a famous artist of ancient China, is dyed with ink drawing.
Chinese dragon is coming out from his work and gathering cloud to go up.
Textile of front side is exquisite silk with woven 'Shou-chiku-bai'( pine tree, bamboo and ume blossom) in circle on sayagata pattern, and the lining is chirimen (crepe) silk.
Beside the prominent patinas and discoloration, there are some flaws such as seams on the lining.
