This is an adorable vintage Maru obi
with 'karabana'(imaginary flower in China), butterfly and bird pattern, which is woven.
Lots of gold and silver foil threads are woven on the pattern.
Kaikiri lines are on both ends. Therefore, this piece can be tied also in 'hikinuki' style.
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Its length is rather short. 414cm=162.9in
This piece is from the same owner who has a vintage Furisode. Therefore, this piece seems to be also vintage one.
However, it is in very good condition and it looks postwar era obi. (However, its length is short and it's not quite new.)
May be, this piece was tied in unusual knot style.
It has slight folding lines from tesaki to tare.
There are other couple of flaws such as peeling spots of foil threads overall. (*It is indicated as smudge (A) on the figure.)
Please check detail photos.
Corners of tare and tesaki are slightly frayed, although it's not mentioned on the sheet and picture.
Please enjoy its charming retro design!
