This is a tasteful antique Fukusa with Takasago
motif, which is embroidered on the Shusu background.
This piece seems to be from early Meiji period(1868-1912).
Its hair and beard motifs are embroidered elaborately and hair waving is expressed beautifully!
Textile is exquisite silk and has soft touch.
Jinken(rayon) is used for the inside (it seems to be reattached lately so it's not so old fabric).
There are small patinas on the outside and seam on the inside.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
Although not indicated, most of the coatings on metallic threads have been rubbed off and discolored in places.
Please enjoy its amazing embroidery work!
