This is a tasteful Asa(ramie) bolt with tiny weft Kasuri
design, which is woven.
It is woven with strongly twisted ramie yarns, so it has special kind of crispy and textured touch of asa, which is very comfortable in humid Japanese summer.
We are not sure of the production region but both warp yarn and weft are hand plied.
It's thin and has smooth ouch.
As the figure shown, there are some stains and snags.
For the details, please refer to the photos and the sheet.
It must be an excellent handicraft material.
*In Japanese, 'asa' includes below three kinds of material. You must feel it strange that 'linen' is included.
'Taima' = Hemp
'Karamushi','Choma' = Ramie
'Ama' = Linen
