This is a marvelous Fukuro obi
with classical kiku (chrysanthemum), botan (peony), ume (Japanese apricot) and matsu (pine tree) on tanzaku (strip of paper) pattern, which are woven.
The beautiful purple color on 'otaiko' (square bow part), and 'maegara' (front patterned part) is named Teio-Murasaki, emperor's purple.
This marvelous Fukuro obi
was produced by Juraku, one of the most famous Nishijin obi weavers.
Textile is exquisite silk and it's soft and glossy.
It has relatively prominent folding lines, but there are no other prominent flaws.
