This classical Houmongi
kimono has 'shourai' pattern (wind through pine trees) which is dyed on a tranquil base color.
White dots on pine trees are just like graceful powder snow which is expressed probably by Makinori technique.(Dried bamboo skins with glue are spread on wet textile to leave some areas undyed to express snow or mist.)
Textile is exquisite silk with woven pattern and has soft touch.
The lapel is hiro-eri(wide lapel).
It has no flaws and is in excellent condition.
This traditional design make this piece enjoyable for a wide generation!
